Harmony of the East is a 360-degree immersive installation and live audiovisual performance that invites audiences into a contemplative journey through the intertwined spiritual legacies of Indian and Chinese cultures. Rooted in the symbolism of two ancient civilizations, the piece brings to life a visual and sonic conversation between the lotus and the lantern, the peacock and the dragon, each carrying centuries of myth, ritual, and meaning.
As visitors step into the space, they are enveloped by a panoramic projection of fluid, evolving visuals generated using TouchDesigner. Colors shift like silks in the wind, patterns bloom and dissolve, and rhythmic pulses echo through a spatial audio system, composed and performed live. The environment breathes, reacting and flowing in a way that feels both ancient and futuristic.
This project was born from a desire to explore how tradition can be reimagined through technology, not as a spectacle, but as a shared moment of reflection. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, we sought to balance precision with poetry, designing an experience that doesn't dictate meaning but invites emotion.
At its core, Harmony of the East is about connection - between cultures, across histories, and within ourselves. In a world often marked by division, this installation creates a space where light, sound, and movement speak a universal language. A place where harmony is not a theme, but a felt experience.
